The Web Authoring Resource Center (WARC) provides developers of Cal Poly Official Web sites with the information and tools necessary to plan and build a site that meets basic requirements for University Identity, Web Accessibility, Usability, and Aesthetics. In addition, the WARC provides valuable information on how best to maintain web sites for currency and efficiency.

Coming up with color schemes for web pages is hard. Try a site called Color Schemer (http://www.colorschemer.com/) which offers both products and free sample of color schemes that might work for you. And best of all color schemes can be downloaded directly into Adobe Photoshop.
The technical definition is: "XHTML is a family of current and future document types and modules that reproduce, subset, and extend HTML 4, XHTML family document types are XML based, and ultimately are designed to work in conjunction with XML-based user agents." Now what does that mean to you? XHTML is the future of HTML which is the basis of all online code. Building your site to conform to strict XHTML standards not only means your site will play nice with most current web browsers but it will also meet 90% of ADA accesiblity requirments!
